On-Site Training: Here’s What Happens After You Buy a Machine from Hefestus

Welcome to the front lines of the pre-roll revolution, where Hefestus is rewriting the rules of automation.
Let’s talk about what happens immediately after you buy one of Hefestus’s machines.
In an industry where the norm is a quick setup and a brief tutorial, Hefestus breaks the mold. While typical providers might spend a day – maybe less – on installation and basic operation, Hefestus dedicates up to five transformative days on site with you and your team.
Forget everything you thought you knew about manufacturing efficiency; here, machines come alive.
Under the guidance of Jessie Trigleth, Hefestus’s lead technician in the U.S., clients are initiated into a world where machinery pulses with personality and potential.
From Overwhelm to Joy: The Beauty of Simple Engineering
“Although I’m there to guide teams in learning how to work with this automation, in the end, it’s the simplicity of the machine that wins them over,” Trigleth said.
At first, when you pull the AuraX or AuraOne out of the box, it can be a little overwhelming. Same when you first fire the machine up and hear the noises that it makes, Trigleth continued.
“But once you see how simple it is, it is a total joy to work with, where you see that pre-rolls aren’t just a chore, but we’re basically printing money now because we are producing them at a pace and at an efficiency that’s causing us to prosper.”
Imagine working like a dog to produce 3,000 pre-rolls with a knockbox versus having fun with a fine piece of automation and producing 10,000 pre-rolls in a single shift,” Trigleth said.
Five Days Onsite: In-Depth Setup and Training
The number of training days actually depends on the operator, Trigleth said. Some only need three or four days to master the machine.
“The very first thing I do when we get the machine turned on is invite the client to name it,” Trigleth said. “It brings a personal touch to the machine, that it’s not just a tool, but a part of your team. It really brings the process to life.”
“Next, we cover the dos and don’ts of what you can touch in the machine, what each component does, and general operation,” Trigleth said.
“Then we go over the fine science of the pre-roll itself, including common issue with pre-roll design, and how we can overcome those for consistency.”
The next step is safety, safety, safety, Trigleth emphasized.
“We are a safety-driven company always, and I teach clients how to manage the machine as safely as possible,” he said. “And from there, it’s really wash, rinse, and repeat.”
It comes down to muscle memory, going through the same steps over and over. “I’ll have you do the same step 50 times until I’m 100 percent sure it’s drilled into your head,” Trigleth said.
Preparing You for Minimal Downtime
All machines, no matter how well designed, are prone to occasional malfunction.
This is one of the things people tend to love best about the Aura pre-roll machines from Hefestus – you don’t need an engineering degree to work with them.
During training, once Trigleth is satisfied that the team has mastered the essentials, he’ll start forcing the machine to go into errors and then show the team how to overcome them.
“For instance, if a joint doesn’t eject out of the machine and rotates back around, how do you remedy this? What’s the code look like? What are the characteristics of the machine when this happens?” Trigleth said.
After that, Trigleth will quiz the team with questions, present additional problems, and let them troubleshoot.
“It’s not a super technical process, but we want to make sure there are no questions at the end of it. And that’s a big thing with a lot of pre-roll companies. They’ll come in to set up the machine, and when they leave, there are questions unanswered,” Trigleth said.
“I leave a job site making sure that there are no unanswered questions. And if an issue does arise, I’m available 24/7. Doesn’t matter if I’m on a plane, if I’m asleep, or if I’m at an event, my phone is a direct hotline for our clients – and that’s really what separates us from our competitors.”
